Seatbelts in buses are not required by New Zealand law and we are unable to guarantee availability of buses fitted with seatbelts in advance of travel.
However, in most cases, the first five rows on InterCity buses are fitted with seat belts and in some cases the entire bus is fitted with them.
If you are traveling with a child in a carseat or booster seat, and the bus you travel on does not have seat belts fitted (or the seats with belts equipped are occupied), we can either transfer your unused ticket to another service at no extra charge or offer a full refund.
Alternately you are more than welcome to put the car seat/booster seat in the undercarriage and carry the infant or child on your knee.
